Mr. Lamond Dean is a proud alumnus of Chapel Hill High School’s Class of 1991. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Education, and a principal’s certificate from Texas A&M University–Commerce, as well as a Superintendent certification from Texas A&M University–Texarkana, earned in 2015.

Mr. Dean’s 29-year career in education includes 18 years of dedicated service to Chapel Hill ISD. As CHISD High School Principal, his leadership helped the campus earn an impressive 17 out of 20 TEA Academic Distinctions over his final three years, an achievement he credits to the commitment and excellence of his faculty and staff.

Since 2018, Mr. Dean has served as Superintendent of Chapel Hill ISD. Under his leadership, the district has experienced unprecedented growth, innovative program development, and a strengthened commitment to student success and community engagement. His vision emphasizes building strong partnerships, advancing academic achievement, and ensuring every student has access to a future filled with opportunity.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership and service to Texas students, Mr. Dean was named the Region 7 Superintendent of the Year in 2025. 

Beyond his work in education, Mr. Dean is deeply engaged in community service. He serves on the boards of Children’s Advocacy (CASA), Family Circle of Care (FCC), Chapel Hill Community Service Organization (CHCSO), and Claims Administrator Service (CAS). Recently, he was also elected to the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and joined the Tyler Area Business Education Council.
