Chapel Hill, Smith County - A “soul street dance” performance by the Young Audiences of Northeast Texas is coming to Jackson Elementary. The performance will showcase an interactive exploration of the science of dance on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the school's cafeteria.
In the program, professional dancers skillfully will present skeletal features, emphasizing hinged joints and ball-and-socket joints, unraveling the mystery behind seemingly gravity-defying leaps and bends. The performance aims to showcase the synergy between bones, muscles, and brain commands that enable dancers to accomplish incredible feats.
The event is connected to the school's health and science curriculum for students in grades pre-k through third grade.
