Chapel Hill, Smith County - Chapel Hill ISD (CHISD), in partnership with Bethel Baptist Church Chapel Hill, is thrilled to announce its annual Pack the Bus: School Supply Distribution Day, an event dedicated to helping students in need. This year's event will take place starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Bethel Baptist Church Gym, located at 13108 State Hwy 64 East, Tyler, TX 75707.
“This year, we are asking for monetary donations to maximize the impact of the drive,” said Robin Gilliam, Children’s Ministry Director for Bethel Baptists Church. “By donating funds through Bethel Baptist Church's secure PayPal account, every contribution will go directly towards purchasing backpacks and supplies, allowing us to reach more students and make a lasting difference in their education.”
The event will begin at 2 p.m., and backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students will get a chance to visit supply stations inside Bethel’s Gym and fill their own backpacks with supplies. No documentation will be required, ensuring that all families in need can benefit from this initiative.
“The event aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that every student has the essential tools they need to succeed academically. With the community's generous support, we will be providing free backpacks and school supplies to students from our district and the surrounding area,” said CHISD’s Communications Director Belen Casillas.
Whether you are a member of the community looking to donate or a family seeking assistance, we encourage you to join us at Bethel Baptist Church Gym on Saturday, August 5.
