ABOUT CHAPEL HILL HIGH SCHOOL
Chapel Hill High School is home to the Bulldogs and has served the East Texas community since opening in 1950. The first graduating class of CHISD in 1951 had 12 proud graduates. To this day, we proudly wear our Blue and Gold.
CHHS is a public secondary school located in Tyler and is a part of the Chapel Hill Independent School District. The district is rated as 4A Division 1 by the University Interscholastic League. The High school includes grades 9-12. Programs offered to students include the following: Required Academics, UIL Academics, CTE, ECHS, Fine Arts, Music – Choir & Band, Athletics, PE – Outdoor Education, Dance, Theatre Arts, G/T, English as Second Language, Dyslexia, Special Education, DAEP, WINGS (Drop-Out-Recovery) AP/Dual Language, NHS/NTHS, Numerous Student Organizations.
It is CHISD's desire to give our students a bright future and to provide them with the skills and the knowledge to be ready for what lies ahead. With technology presenting ever-changing challenges, we realize we must engage our students in real-world learning for a better future.
Our Mission
It is the mission of Chapel Hill High School to empower and challenge students to reach their full potential, so that they may compete successfully in a changing world. Through observation and collaboration with students, family, staff, and the community, all students will graduate according to their individual graduation plan. To ensure success, Chapel Hill High School will provide a consistent, positive learning environment that values human diversity and nurtures each talent.
Our Objectives
Goal 1: Maximize student achievement through high standards across all disciplines, which incorporate critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, high-quality instructional strategies and innovative teaching.
Goal 2: Create a culture that engages families and community members to support the academic and social development of ALL students.
Goal 3: Sustain an effective and efficient organization by utilizing a flexible, responsive, and consistent process for financial and operational management.
Goal 4: Design professional learning opportunities that lead to effective teaching practices, instructional leadership, and improved student results.
Goal 5: Recruit, develop, and retain qualified/certified, and effective personnel.
