“Altra Federal Credit Union is committed to the communities we serve and to giving back. In 2022, we launched the High School Spirit Instant Issue Debit Card Giveback Program, giving our members the ability to show their school spirit by choosing a debit card with your school’s logo on it. Each time your school’s card was chosen, $5 was raised for your school!” - Daisy Phillips

Start with Hello Week is an initiative started in January 2013 after the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in December 2012. A group of parents that lost children in the shooting felt the need to take action. This program has reached over 23,000 schools. The program focuses on reducing social isolation and prevent violence in schools. Chapel Hill High School is a registered school that promises to recognize the week of September 18-22 with purpose. Student Senate students will be greeting students in the morning with encouragement, smiles, nametags, and stickers. We will wear green on Wednesday in honor of Sandy Hook Elementary. On Hey Day students will be given name tags to wear to initiate a kind encounter. Thursday will be Positive Post-it Notes where students will spread positive words all around campus. The goal in recognizing Start with Hello Week is to remind students that a simple hello and kind word can have a lasting effect.
