Chapel Hill, Smith County - Chapel Hill Independent School District invites parents and legal guardians to the “Winter Gathering,” an event designed to empower parents in supporting their children's learning journey at home. The education workshop will begin at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Kissam Intermediate School’s cafeteria and library.
"We believe a strong partnership between parents and the school is crucial for a child's success. This workshop aims to equip parents with valuable insights and resources to actively contribute to their child's educational journey," said Bilingual Director Ana Jimenez.
The workshop will feature two informative sessions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Grades PreK through 1st:
For parents with students in PreK through 1st grade, practical advice on supporting early education at home will be shared.
Grades 2nd through 12th:
Parents of students in 2nd to 12th grade are encouraged to attend sessions highlighting insights into the TELPAS and STAAR exams, providing valuable tips on how to assist their children in exam preparation.
To make the event enjoyable for the whole family, there will be engaging activities for children with childcare provided. Families are asked to a dish to share, creating an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of our community and foster connections among families.
