I was honored to meet one of the trustees of the Michelson Art Museum in Marshall who is an architect and artist and one of the 4 judges of this elete showing and competition.  He said Phuong artwork was unanimous for first by all four judges votes  out of 22 artworks selected from the First District.  Congratulations also to Everett Murrieta who was accepted into the exhibition with his art entitled, "Seeing the True Light".  Everett and Phuong will receive an official 2023 Washington DC coin made out of the marble from the former Washington DC Capital stairs that were recently renovated.

Seeing these art students create these original artworks from start to finish is one of the most impressive and exciting things I do with my life. I am SO proud of them as I am proud of all my 181 students for creating incredible pieces of art to represent Chapel High School!!

Phuong,  Everett, and their parents all received an invitation to attend this ceremony but were  unable to, so I accepted Phuong's award on her behalf.

I have also included below Phuong's art that is competing April 28th and 29th at STATE.  Everett Murrieta and Keziah Knight will also be competing.

Help me congratulate this AMAZING young artist who will help make a difference in the future!!
