Tyler, TX — Chapel Hill ISD is proud to announce that their talented students have earned a spot in the Bi-District round of the UIL One Act Play competition, which will be held on April 2nd at Canton High School. After securing a first-place finish at the Zone level and a strong second-place overall at District, the team continues to showcase their extraordinary talent and dedication.

Several students were recognized for their individual achievements and contributions:

  • Honor Crew: Lizania Delgadillo, our outstanding Stage Manager, was honored for her exceptional work behind the scenes.

  • Honorable Mention All Star Cast (Bronze Medal): Jordan Sayre received this award for their impressive on-stage performance.

  • All Star Cast (Silver Medal): Katelyn Chavez was recognized with this prestigious award for her remarkable acting skills.

  • Best Performer (Gold Medalist): Ben Beesler earned the top honor as Best Performer, highlighting his exceptional talent and commanding stage presence.

In the UIL One Act Play format, no sideline coaching is allowed. Once everything is set up, the directors take their seats in the audience, confident that the long, dedicated rehearsal hours have prepared their students to handle every detail on their own. The stage manager calls every cue—from lights and sound to transitions—ensuring the performance stays right on schedule within the strict 40-minute limit. On top of that, the talented actors deliver every line and movement with impressive precision, making our district incredibly proud. “We are incredibly proud of our students' dedication and achievements in the UIL One Act Play competition,” said Jacob Spadie, director of theatre. “Their hard work, creativity, and teamwork have truly shone through, and we are excited to see them continue their journey to Bi-District.”
