Tyler, Texas — Chapel Hill ISD is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 23-24 Teacher of the Year awards, celebrating exceptional educators who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and impact within our schools.

The nominees for this year’s Teacher of the Year were Mary Montiel from Jackson Elementary, Gricelda Cruz from Wise Elementary, Jaqueline Flach from Kissam Intermediate, Frank Donally from Chapel Hill Junior High, and Rebecca Anthony from Chapel Hill High School. These educators were recognized for their innovative teaching methods, commitment to student success and ability to inspire and engage their students.

Mary Montiel from Jackson Elementary has been named the Elementary Teacher of the Year. Ms. Montiel’s passion for education and her dedication to creating a nurturing and dynamic learning environment have significantly impacted her students and the entire school community.

The Secondary Teacher of the Year honor goes to Frank Donally from Chapel Hill Junior High. Mr. Donally’s commitment to academic excellence and his ability to connect with students have distinguished him as an outstanding educator who consistently goes above and beyond to support his students’ growth and development.

In addition to these individual awards, the highest honor of Overall Teacher of the Year for the district was given to Mary Montiel. Her exceptional contributions to education, innovative teaching practices and unwavering dedication to her students and colleagues have set a remarkable standard of excellence.
