About Mrs. Tarbutton
Howdy! My name is Anna Tarbutton. I graduated in 1999 from Texas A&M with my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Education. I did not start my career in Education upon graduation. Instead, I went to work in journalism and advertising with D Magazine out of Dallas, TX. It was through my corporate experience that I learned the importance math plays in the "real world." When I moved back to Tyler in 2013, I decided to take all of the wisdom I had gained from corporate America and apply it to teaching mathematics. Along the way, I discovered my deep passion for teaching science. I loved combining mathematical strategies with hands-on science labs. I have taught math and science for over 5 years online and 3 years in the classroom 3rd through 8th grade. I am very excited to join Kissam as a 6th Grade Math and Science Teacher this year!
