1st year at Chapel Hill
I was born and raised in the east Texas piney woods and am beginning my 34th year in education this year as a professional Texas educator with experiences ranging from Pre-K through post graduate levels in online, face-to-face, and hybrid classroom designs. Additionally, I have served as a volunteer literacy missionary and completed an initial research investigation in second language pedagogy and andragogy through collaboration with English teachers and language expert, Vivian Cook.
Of my 34 years in education, 28 of those were specific to second language learners in various school systems in Texas. In addition, I am, not only an educator, but also the wife of Stephen Dickerson, mother to six children and their spouses, and grandmother of 15 grandchildren--two of whom are learning the Sloven language as missionaries alongside their parents in the country of Slovenia. I am so grateful for Chapel Hill ISD providing me with this opportunity of service to the future through service to the students of CHISD, and look forward to our learning together this year.
