Meet Dr. Bailey
Welcome to Jackson Elementary School! I am so proud to serve alongside our outstanding staff and faculty at Jackson Elementary. I am entering my 2nd year as principal at JES, my 6th year as an administrator, and my 13th year in education. I started my career as a teacher and coach at Hallsville ISD. After serving at HISD for seven years, I then served at Stephen F. Austin State University as the Director for two National Professional Development grants for ELL instruction in partnership with Lufkin ISD and Nacogdoches ISD. From there, I served at Kilgore ISD Central Office from 2012-2015 as the Director for Bilingual/ESL programs and Response to Intervention. Outside of my daily role at Jackson, I also serve as an adjunct professor for Educational Leadership at SFA, and I present at state and national education conferences regularly.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Scott, is also an educator and was a school administrator for many years before becoming an educational leadership professor fours years ago. We have two children: Mason and Adeline. I also enjoy writing and reading on topics in education, as well as jogging and biking when I have time. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and my Master's and Doctoral degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Our children are why we are here, and I firmly believe in holistically preparing every child for academic, affective, social, linguistic, and cross-cultural success. At Jackson Elementary, our mantra is "Mighty oaks from little acorns grow." As the leader of the campus, my focus is on growing our students into Mighty Oaks by building capacity in our staff, faculty, parents, and community.
Our theme this school year is ELEVATE 2016-2017, as we are focused on taking our students and school community to new heights. We made tremendous gains and saw historical student growth in 2015-2016, and we look forward to continued partnerships with our school community to focus on student success this year. I hope you will join us in our mission this year to ensure success for every child.
Please never hesitate to contact me for any questions, comments, or concerns. I value your input and welcome your partnership.
